I tried hiring sims with bombdiggity worth ethic and good sales or maintenance skills but they just don't seem to be doing anything unless I tell them too, and they never manage to cash customers out even when I have instructed them too, which leaves my sims busy while the employees sit around not really earning the money that I pay them.

I would interact with them more but my sims don't have the time between cashing sims out and restocking. I constantly have customers walking out because I'm unable to cash them out in time, and others just hang out and never buy. My sim family runs a bakery and it just seems to be a money sink. I'm not sure I'm cut out for the retail store market.
